Research Portfolio - Secondary Research (Resubmitted)

The task for this unit was to create a TV advert for a Unilever product, meaning I had to conduct secondary research for Unilever and then a product within Unilever, the brand I picked being Magnum. This is a good example of secondary research as I gathered information about Unilever and Magnum, which was helpful to me when rebranding Magnum for this presentation. It also gave me a better understanding of Unilever for when I was creating my TV advert for Simple. I was unable to conduct primary research myself as I couldn't access anyone who worked for Unilever.

For this task, I had to conduct secondary research on TV adverts by analysing an existing TV advert as I had not yet made my own, the one I chose being an advert for the iPhone X. This was useful secondary research on TV adverts as it helped me gain an understanding on TV adverts and what they commonly include, which was useful to me in the rebranding of Magnum and creating the advert for Simple.
The task for this unit was to create a corporate video for the organisation MESH, highlighting what they've achieved with their Cutting Hedge project. For this, I had to conduct secondary research on all the organisations that were involved with the project: Great Yarmouth Borough Council, MESH, Voluntary Norfolk and East Norfolk Sixth Form College. This secondary research was reliable as they came from the official websites for Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Voluntary Norfolk, and helped me gain the knowledge on these organisations as well as MESH so I could create an accurate corporate video. I had to conduct secondary research for these two organisations as I was unable to interview any representatives of Great Yarmouth Borough Council or Voluntary Norfolk as primary research.

The task for this unit was to create a three-minute documentary on a topic; the topic I chose was stress in teenagers at exam time, and so I had to conduct both primary and secondary research about this topic. This research was useful as it gave me statistics to use in my documentary and helped me understand the topic better; however, the reliability of the sources can't be guaranteed as they are not official websites of any organisations like in the MESH research.
